CREOLE HERITAGE CONFERENCE - A REPORT
MAY 21-22, 1999
NORTHWESTERN STATE UNIVERSITY
The first ever conference regarding Louisiana's Creole Heritage and Culture took place
as scheduled and has been declared a success by all. The conference was attended by
over 120 participants. The feedback received from the participants has been
extremely positive. Work is progressing towards development of a resource guide that
will contain the conference proceedings, findings and presentations. The guide is to
be developed in a manner that will support educational courses at various levels dealing
with Louisiana and American history as well as a resource for the Creole communities and
researchers of these communities. Completion of this guide is scheduled for
early fall of 1999. Completed portions will be posted to this site as the work
progresses.
